Yes, after you have passed the real estate exam, you can apply for a license. A licensed broker must sign the application and agree to supervise you.
No. All candidates for a broker’s license, in either Kansas or Missouri, must have worked as a real estate licensee for two years prior to applying for a broker’s license. Those who have a lot of real estate experience can apply for a waiver of the two years, but it does not apply to most people.
The licensing process includes completing the 48-hour Missouri Broker Pre-Exam course, passing the Missouri Real Estate Law exam and applying for your broker license within the required timeframe after course completion. To be eligible to take the 48-hour Missouri Broker Pre-license class, you must have been licensed as a Salesperson in any state for 24 of the past 30 months.
Kansas broker licensing requires that you have been licensed and actively engaged in real estate for at least two of the past three years, along with meeting the state’s transaction point requirements. Most candidates must complete two 30-hour broker pre-license courses before taking the licensing exam, while those licensed in another state may qualify for a reduced education pathway. All applications and exam scheduling are completed through the Kansas Real Estate Commission.
