How long is real estate school in Kansas?

On average, people receive their Kansas real estate license in three to five months, but this will vary by person and their schedule. Kansas has the following four steps before you can earn your real estate agent license:
– The 30-hour Salesperson Pre-Exam Class: minimum 1.5-4 weeks
– Take and pass the exam: minimum 1-3 weeks
– The 30-hour Salesperson Practice Course: minimum 1-2 weeks

How much is real estate school in Kansas?

There are a number of costs in getting licensed. Fortunately, you don’t usually have to pay them all at one time. Below is a list of typical costs:

Pre-exam course:
$250 (KS) | $395 (MO)
The reason for the difference is that Missouri requires 48 hours and Kansas only 30 hours.

Kansas Practice License Course & Missouri Practice Course:
$200 (KS) | $200 (MO)

Test fee (to testing service):
$82 (KS) | $75 (KS exam retake) | $62 (MO)

License fee (to states of Kansas and/or Missouri):
$100-$175

Additionally, there are other up-front costs that you may incur (depending on the type of real estate career you pursue). The following amounts are approximate:

Board of Realtors annual dues (if your company is a Realtor member):
$400-$500

Multiple listing service initial membership costs:
$200-$300

Entry level sales training:
$100-$200

Just like any other business, there are other on-going costs that you will incur. (Check with your broker about other costs that may not be listed here).

Is real estate a good career?

A career in real estate offers a variety of benefits, including no college degree required, no cap to how much you can earn, and you can choose how to spend your time. There are also different real estate career path opportunities you can take, so if you enjoy one aspect more than another, you can dive deep into that realm and build your success.
As people start a career in real estate, they can find a few cons to the job. The most reported con is how they view relationships after they pursue real estate, as many feel the need to prospect opportunities from the people they already know, which muddies the waters of their personal and professional relationships.

How do I contact the Kansas Real Estate commission?
