Apply for Your License & Get Fingerprinting & Background Check
  • Register through Missouri’s approved fingerprinting vendor and visit an approved location to be fingerprinted and pay the fee on site.
Get Licensed in Missouri and Kansas
Missouri residents who want to obtain a Kansas license must follow the KS licensing steps.
  1. Create Your Account. Go to https://aca-prod.accela.com/KANSAS to create your account. During setup, make sure to check that you are a Missouri resident.
  2. Apply and Pay. Log back in, find “KREC Licenses,” and apply for a “salesperson license.” Fill out the form and pay the $85 fee.
  3. Get Your PL Number. After paying, you will get a PL number. You MUST give this PL number to Career Education before your class ends.
  4. Submit Fingerprints. Get your fingerprint card. Only after you have your PL number, mail the card to the KREC.
  5. Schedule Your Exam. Once you finish your class, Career Education tells the KREC. The KREC will then have the testing service (Pearson Vue) email you instructions to schedule your state exam.

How long does it take to get a real estate license in MO

On average, people receive their Missouri real estate license in three to five months, but this will vary by person and their schedule. Missouri has the following four steps before you can earn your real estate agent license:
– The 48-hour Salesperson Pre-Exam Class: minimum 1.5-4 weeks
– Take and pass the exam: minimum 1-3 weeks
– The 24-hour Salesperson Practice Course: minimum 1-2 weeks
– Apply for License

What education is required to be a real estate agent?

Real estate licensing laws vary by state. Kansas requires a 30-hour real estate Pre-Exam Course before you can sit for the salesperson’s test; you also must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED to be licensed. Prior to applying for a real estate license, you must also take another 30-hour real estate Practice Course, which is a course on real estate contracts, working with home sellers and buyers, etc.

The reason for the difference is that Missouri requires 48 hours and Kansas only 30 hours.
